THE INSPIRATIONAL PARC MONCEAU

INspirational Parc Monceau

Nestled near Parc Monceau, Atelier Choux finds constant inspiration in its beauty. The park was the brand’s first muse, and its founders, who live nearby, have always been captivated by its charm.

MONCEAU MANSIONS

The mansions surrounding the park inspired Monceau Mansion, one of Atelier Choux’s first prints, and reflects the brand’s love for Parisian architecture.

WHERE IS PARC MONCEAU?

Nestled in Paris’ 8th arrondissement, Parc Monceau boasts a rich history dating back to 1778. Established by Philippe d’Orléans, a cousin of King Louis XVI, it sits near the iconic Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées.

FIRST PARACHUTE JUMP FROM A HOT AIR BALLOON

In 1797 André-Jacques Garnerin made a daring leap from a hot air balloon at 3,000 feet, pioneering the first ever parachute jump. Find this sign above on the park’s south side! Hot air balloons became popular during the late 1700s and they continue to inspire all our whimsical collections.

LE MANÈGE DU PARC

Parisians can’t resist a twirl on a carousel – a tradition that spans generations! Atelier Choux, ever inspired by Parisian traditions, proudly features a Carousel or a Manège in its collection, a charming reference to this French pastime.

PARC MONCEAU BRIDGE

The Italian-style bridge was built by architect Davioud during the Second French Empire (1852-1870). According to legend, this bridge was inspired by the famous Rialto Bridge in Venice, built between 1588-1591.

LA NAUMACHIE

Beyond its lush greenery, Parc Monceau offers a feast for the eyes with its beautiful architectural elements. A standout feature is La Naumachie, a colonnade bordering the lake that adds a touch of grandeur to the scene.
